ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION:The Willie Mae Sales-Griffin Family Resource Center, Inc. has an open admissions policy its programs are open to all children without regard to their race, color, sex, or national origin. Furthermore, WMSG accepts children with handicapping conditions if their needs can be reasonable accommodated. WMSG serves children both male and female between the ages of 0-21.
Eligibility is unrestricted, and each placement is considered on an individual basis. Should the specifics of the case warrant, and the available, willing, specifically trained, and experienced foster family exist, and appropriate support interventions are committed to serve the children or youth WMSG will discuss placement options for any child’s case presented. However, WMSG reserves the right to reject those children for whom no adequate home situation exists. WMSG will only place children whose known needs can be met by WMSG based on the preplacement assessment, planning and room, board, and watchful oversight capacity.
WMSG will not accept referrals if placement services for children whose needs for room, board and watchful oversight cannot be met based upon the child's physical, educational, or emotional needs. WMSG does not accept private placements. All placements are funded through the Georgia Department of Human Services, based on the child’s assigned RBWO rate.

Children referred to our program are assigned an WMSG foster care case manager to provide case management services and assist in providing stability in the foster home. The assigned case manager will visit with the child and foster parents bi-monthly, both in the foster home and in the community. The case manager will also help the foster parent advocate for the child's needs to lead a successful life. Children placed in foster care can be a short or long-term placement, to be discussed with WMSG Foster Care Case Manager as well as the DFCS Case Manager. Foster Parents in this program receive training and support so they can actively participate in the planning and implementation of therapeutic interventions for their foster children. Monthly training and support groups are provided by WMSG including topics such as attachment, trauma, behavioral modification, cultural diversity, and mandated reporting.

Our Foster Care program begins with an Individualized Service Plan (ISP) for each child. We take time to understand each child’s past and goals for the future. From there, we work with referring case managers, family members and guardians to develop services that meet their unique needs.
